No. Marking everything makes them stop writing. Correct one or two and write the right sentence beside it.

How do I improve their writing?

In class 4 a child starts writing their own English sentences for the first time. Mistakes at this stage are both normal and necessary — nobody learns a language without making them.

Mistakes are the route, not the obstacle

Writing in English, a child will use Bangla sentence structure — that is not an error but a stage. Seeing and hearing the correct shape repeatedly, they change it themselves. Marking every mistake in red at this point makes the child stop writing, and then the learning stops too. Correct one or two things and let the rest come.

How to help at home

Ask for two or three English sentences a week.
Do not mark every error — one or two is enough.
Write the correct sentence beside it rather than scolding.
Display their writing somewhere; pride motivates.
